The problem with a pattern like Hekla is that it is hard to gauge how well the finished project will look. At this point, I am just knitting on blind hope & having fun with the colors and stripes. The front is finished and the back is almost halfway done. I love how these two yarns are knitting up, so if the sweater ends up being horrible, there's always my backup plan:
I had promised my oldest niece to take her to Warped Tour today, which is a very long, very loud music festival. Not sure which is worse: having to listen to the cacophony of noise that passes for alot of music nowadays or having to watch over a gaggle of teenage girls all day long. Let's just hope that I can sneak my knitting past the security gate :)
(linking up with WIP Wednesday)
LOL the way you scrunched up your knitting makes it look like the Noro striped scarf. I think its going to look fabulous on you!
ReplyDeleteLOL Love the back up plan! But I suspect I'm going to love the finished top even more. The colours look great. You are obviously having more success than I am with knitting Noro in the summer heat!
ReplyDeleteAhh, we knitters know how to develop back-up plans, don't we? : )
ReplyDeleteHave fun at the festival ~ I bet you'll love every bit of it including watching a gaggle of teen girls enjoying themselves.
... Please let us know whether the needles made it past the gate. Last time I went they wouldn't even let us bring water bottles in.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely the girls! Try to have fun?
ReplyDeleteHekla's a very cool pattern. If you thread a lifeline in place of needles you could for sure get the knitting past security!
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting pattern, I love the stripes, can't wait to see how it turns out! Have fun at the concert!
ReplyDeleteLovely pattern and your stripes are such a wonderful colorway. I just looked at your Wave Shawl and am so jealous!

I get the shakes just thinking about herding those teen-'creatures' and their listening to their noise!!! What a woman you are!!! My fingers are crossed for you needles!!! (When I first saw Hekla, I wasn't too sure about it.....but I should have known better. I loved every single thing you knit; this one is no exception! It's going to be dynamite!)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun pattern, I hope it works out the way you had imagined when all is said and done. I do love how the front turned out.
