I can't believe that I am wearing my Amanda cardigan not in the sweltering heat of July but on an overcast snowy winter's day. It's my first finished knit of 2015 and I absolutely love it.
The cardigan was a joy to knit, mainly because I was in such excellent company. It was also a pretty easy and straight forward project. The only difficult part was towards the end with the vertical seamed-in button bands. It was my first time working up this type of button band and I was a little clueless at first but am very happy with the finished results. Probably the best looking button band that I have ever made. Just don't look too closely at where I sewed on the buttons....must look into how to properly do this one day!
You can find my original post with all of the project details here. Also, check out the lovely finished and in-progress knits from this KAL using #fringeandfriendsknitalong on Instagram. I am finding knitalongs to be quite contagiously fun and have already started on my next one (Ysolda's follow your arrow 2)! What was your most recent KAL and was it a good experience?
Splendid, knitterific job! This cardigan is lovely. It looks terrific over your blue clothes.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous cardigan, I love all the cables and the colour! I haven't done a KAL before, would love to be part of one though.
ReplyDeleteTien! This is GORGEOUS!!! I'm sort of sorry now that I didn't opt to join that one!!! (I have downloaded the followyourarrow2.....not sure when I'll actually make this one!!!!!!)
ReplyDeleteIt's awesome! All those cables make it feel like a proper beginning for your 2015 knits, huh? I've enjoyed watching several participants in that KAL work up their sweaters. I wish my Aidez could have tagged along for momentum.
ReplyDeleteI'm really interested to see what this next Follow your Arrow KAL is like thru your shawl. I'm going to be doing the next Holla Knits KAL in Feb to get some favorites out of my queue and on the needles.
Your sweater looks great! I tend to fail at KALs. I just never quite finish in the timeframe allowed, deadlines don't work for me very well in knitting land.
ReplyDeleteIt is lovely!! I suck at knit alongs so tend to not join in. You are the KAL Queen!
ReplyDeleteWow....that is gorgeous! I love the colour too! I joined a mystery call of stephen west, but I got behind after two weeks haha. So I enjoyed it, but it can also be a bit stressfull.
ReplyDeleteOooh this came out SO pretty! And bonus points for finishing it in winter ;)
ReplyDeleteThis is fantastic. I love everything about it! The pattern and the yarn color are beautiful together and I love how well it fits you. A++
ReplyDeleteExquisite!
