pink bicycles

Can't believe that over two months have gone by since my last knit.where outfit post. I don't know about you, but when the cold weather hits, fashion is thrown out the window and replaced with flannel/thermal pajamas and fleece. Sometimes I might layer a handknit sweater over the whole mess. Case in point:

kaari pullover, target thermal longjohns, rocketdog slippers

But I decided to make a special effort today because I recently read somewhere that we should dress to reflect how we want to feel, not how we are currently feeling. I guess it makes sense? So right about now, I want to feel like I have just come back from a long bicycle ride with the sun shining brightly overhead and a warm breeze blowing gently on my face. I can hear the distant waves of the ocean and smell the intoxicating scents of barbecue chicken....um, right....so here's my outfit:

newsprint cowl, target bicycle printed shirt, ae jeans, toms shoes

The cowl was appropriated from my youngest niece who just recently turned twelve and thinks pink is too immature of a color for her now. God save me from the ever changing tastes of a tween!

Big fluffy snowflakes are starting to fall as I write this. So much for motivational dressing.

  1. Well, I wasn't feeling the warm breeze, but I was just about to drool over the BBQ!! Hmm, reminds me I plan to make Sweet and Sour BBQ Meatballs with pineapples and rice tomorrow night!

  2. The first outfit is cute and of course the second is spring hopeful. I have been statying home for 2 weeks and yes, I do need to dress better too. Thanks for the inspiration! Except that where I am, it is mad hot and shorts is more than I can wear :( Maybe I will dig up a cotton handknit and see if I will be sweating in it. I do wish we had cooler weather though. Have a good day!

  3. Hmmm...The first outfit is cute and kitschy. Mixing your prints is totally in right now ;) win! The second outfit is darling. I esp love the cowl and those shoes....so cute! like to dress like it is spring at home too. That's why I do my makeup before leaving the house, and when I'm feeling the crappiest/coldest, my lipstick is the brightest! TBH I wear bright lipstick to cheer me up inside the house too even when there's no one to admire it except well, ME!

  4. Cute outfits! I love the winter one. I'm all for coziness and comfortability. My oldest used to love pink. Now she's over it. Thank goodness the little one expanded her colors to pink.

  8. Super cute fits! I used to have a boyfriend ... back in the olden days ... who used to tell me, "it's not about how you feel. it's about how your look. if you look good everyone will treat you like you're good and you'll feel good. it'll come full circle." ha! I do believe in focusing on the positive or at least redirecting when one's energy can use it. Sure can't hurt right? I like your inner sunshine and bbq chix!
