on the needles {beach edition}

It was such a beautiful day today that I decided on the spur of the moment to walk to the beach and knit the afternoon away. Care to join me?

Gorgeous sunny blue skies plus a little chill in the air made for perfect sweater weather.

Stopover in action

In the knitting bag:

More socks! No sock yarn WIP/UFO is safe from my current sock obsession. This is the same SpunRightRound yarn as pictured on my blog header. I ended up frogging the slip stitch shawl in order to knit this pattern instead. Working on the second sock of the pair.

Also knitting another pair of vanilla socks, this time using West Yorkshire Spinners - Country Birds range in the peacock colorway. I recently saw this yarn on the attic24 blog and instantly fell in love with the fresh bright blue & green stripes.

And lastly, there's my Doodler revisited. Excited to be knitting on this again. The yarn that I am using for clue 3 is by Duck Duck Wool. I so enjoyed watching the jewel toned colors sparkling in the afternoon sunlight.

I hope that your Wednesday was just as lovely! Have a wonderful rest of the week!

  1. I love the yarn you are using for your socks! Bright and bold, a special secret hidden from the rest of the world. Or, you know, roll those pant legs up and show them off!

  2. Lovely projects - all of them...and a day at the beach? Perfect. That shawl is interesting...think this is the first time I've seen that pattern.

  3. Your knits look so lovely in the sunlight outside! What a lovely outdoor excursion. I am laughing my head off because I'm working on the second sock using West Yorshire Spinners Country Birds in pheasant. Gift yarn that has gotten me excited for more. hehe.

  4. Is it a curse that we both seem to be doing small needle knits at the moment? Both of mine fingering weight and I am just itching to cast on a big, fat, fibery, project!!!

    What a great way to spend the day. I like how you mixed your plaid shirt w/the colorwork yoke jumper.

  8. Thanks for bringing me to the beach with you! No beaches near where I live unfortunately, and knitting on the beach in the sun sounds heavenly!

    I can't remember if I had replied; sorry, Tien. My brain is fried right now. Thank you for the podcast support. I kind of feel ho hum about it right now. I hope my hiatus rejuvenates my creativity.
