My basic everyday outfit consists of:
A simple (probably wrinkled) top and jeans |
Comfortable shoes |
And a handmade little something |
I already have an outfit planned for my Color Affection shawl which is such an entertaining knit so far. I am at the beginning of the short row section. ♥ the bright neon rose color.
So, what is your everyday outfit? Do you often choose project colors based on what is in your closet? Or do you go with the color moment and buy something later to match it? Confession: I do this a lot, too.

That pink is amazing, just the sort of colour I like and try to wear. I'll be interested to see how the shawl works out for you, I'm quite tempted to have a go at it because the shape is so lovely.
ReplyDeleteI love colour and my closet is an explosion of it. I can't say that I choose project colours based on what's in my closet but I can say that any yarn colour I have (and I have alot *insert sheepish face*) can go with any outfit from my closet. How's that for colour coordination? LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteThat shawl is fabulous already!!!!
P.S. I love those grey and turquoise Kicks (aka sneakers). That colour combo plus the hint of black would make a perfect project combo!!!! And the orange and pink purse. And that hot pink shirt. LOL!!! I told you I love colour.
DeleteI love your outfits! And how amazing does your Colour Affection look? Those pinks are fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI'm quite boring with my wardrobe and colour choices - lots of neutrals!
Very smart, lady! I wish I'd given yarn more thought before I bought some of it, which matches nothing in my closet! That bright top is going to look so good with that shawl.
ReplyDeleteI love this look at your everyday outfits! I really need to photograph mine - I have a favorite pair of jeans, and a few tops I love... That Color Affection shawl will totally fit with your outfits. The colors are gorgeous - what yarn is that?
ReplyDeleteI just love the pictures in this post--the colours are beautiful! I'm such a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl, but more and more I'm trying to add in hand knit items, like the scarves and cowls you show. I've got wrinkly clothing too, I refuse to spend time ironing when I could be knitting!
ReplyDeleteI choose colors that I don't actually wear, so I have to be very careful when I make something for me. If I wouldn't actually wear the color - it becomes a gift for someone else. Although I should experiment with wearing these colors since I like them enough to knit with :-)
ReplyDeleteOver the years, I've finally sort of figured this out. My closet is pretty grey/black/beige. My yarn closet a riot of color---which of course, all goes with grey, black and beige!!!!! A win-win (usually)
ReplyDeleteI am right with you on the jeans and wrinkled top. Add flip flops and a big necklace and you have my outfit...every single day! :-)
ReplyDeleteI really admire how colorful your wardrobe is. I tend toward neutral or dark tones which is a complete downer in the spring/summer. As for my yarn color choices, I've recently started adding brights to my stash but I can't really explain why!
ReplyDeletewhat a great post - I love how you choose your outfits. They are so fun and colourful and the added touch of a handmade accessory is fab!
ReplyDeleteYay for colours! It's an excellent idea to purposefully choose coordinating yarns. If I go with green, blue, or purple I'm usually safe, but often I don't even think about coordinating at the yarn-buying stage. Right now my daily outfit seems to be jeans, tshirt, and thin store-bought cotton cardigan. One day I hope to have enough homemade cardigans to use most of the time instead.... One day.
ReplyDeleteYou're colors are so bright and fun! I wish I was more organized about making my own projects. Usually, I'm too hot all the time so I generally only make things that match my coat so I can wear outside. But I want to make more indoor accessories for myself this year.
ReplyDeleteI love when people pair their handknits with outfit posts! Also, those ballet flats are adorable.
ReplyDeleteI love those colors! :D I sometimes choose projects to go with an outfit, but sometimes I'll knit something and then discover new ways to wear it. I do enjoy looking at all my clothes and it's always fun to find a new combination!
