Today is the eve of the Vietnamese/Chinese Lunar New Year. It is the most important holiday in Vietnam and involves family, food, festivals, and many spiritual symbolism. I wanted to make the little ones in my family some gifts to honor the Year of the Cat, besides giving the traditional "lucky" money. But my nieces saw these bunny nuggets on ravelry and were instantly in love, so we are going by the Chinese zodiac which says this is the Year of the Rabbit. It is such a fast and fun pattern. I finished this one in less than 2 hours. I am also hard at work on my Daybreak. Just a few more rows of the edging left. Here is a shot of it with the afternoon sunlight shining from behind. Hope everyone is having a great week. Check out these crafty ladies at WIP Wednesday with TAMI'S AMIS. I better get back to knitting more bunny nuggets, after I hide all the chocolates.
I love the bunny. Such a cute pattern. I like the yarns you've used for the daybreak. I shall have to go and look up what they are!
ReplyDeleteHow cute it that bunny!! Happy New Year : )
ReplyDeleteHow adorable is that??? Love the bunny!
ReplyDeleteI wasn't aware that the Vietnamese and Chinese calendars had different zodiacs... but of course that makes sense!
The bunny is adorable, I bet he will be a longtime favorite of your nieces. Your Daybreak looks fantastic, too. I wonder if I have that in my queue? Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteLove those bunnies. We are all very excited about the year of the rabbit here as we love bunnies.
ReplyDeleteOMG, I LOVE the bunny! Was it super easy (aka, I could do it)? LOL I'd love to make a few for Easter.
ReplyDeleteThank you all! The only difference in the zodiacs is the cat/rabbit. All the others are the same.
ReplyDeleteTami: you can totally make this, probably better than me, with all your ami experience!
CraftyCripple: I am using Zauberball yarn throughout.
