tartan lula hoop

This project was a definite case of saw it want it gotta knit it. It didn't matter that the yarn was super bulky and required size 19 needles (yikes!) to knit up. The knitting went pretty quickly despite having to take frequent breaks. The best part was getting to try out Crazy Sexy Wool. Yup, that's the actual name of the yarn, but I think it should be called Crazy Snuggly Wool. Gorgeous stuff, but I would hesitate to knit a sweater out of it due to the pilling factor. It is perfect for a cowl, hat or scarf though. Can't believe I went this long without a plaid knitted accessory in my life. Now I've got my eye on this one. Maybe in some pretty Spring colors?

  1. you did it again...you find the BEST projects!!! I'm afraid I'd have to settle for Franklin's version----worsted drives me crazy it's so 'bulky'!!! But, you cowl truly is beautiful. Good job---as always!!

  3. I did a crochet mesh blanket that I then used to weave 3 strands of yarn through to make a plaid blanket for my mom. I used the weave of her couch to duplicate the pattern. Never again!!!! But the cowl is too cute! And so much smaller than a blanket. LOL

  4. Your cowl is gorgeous and I am a fan of the franklin habit pattern as well. I hope you do it so I can see your project! I am a little upset with you though, because now I jumped down the rabbit hole that is "Wool and the Gang" and feel myself making deals with the devil to purchase one of their kits ... ;) No, I'm kidding, WATG is awesome (I wish I could see the optional colors better!) Thanks for introducing me to them!
