New Friend
Have you ever met someone new and suddenly there is an instant connection? Like you have been friends for ages? That's how I felt a few days ago after being introduced to brioche knitting. What a neat technique which looks more intimidating than it really is. The interplay of the two colors is mesmerizing, as is the cushy fabric that is created from a series of simple slip stitches, yarn overs, k2tog's and p2tog's. I am currently knitting the Newsprint Cowl for my youngest niece's birthday which is a great beginner's brioche project. She loves pink...

Very pretty! I have seen this style before but have definitely lumped it into the advanced knitting pile. Maybe some day I will try this technique!

ReplyDeletethis is so pretty!!! (being a grey kind of girl, myself!!!!) Only did one brioche project....a hat from Weekend Knitting----a long time ago!! Sort of forgot all about that!!!!

I haven't tried brioche yet! It can do lots of fun stuff, though, so I'll get there some day.
ReplyDeleteAbout two years ago, I taught myself brioche knitting ... it took me two entire weekends to master it but it was well worth it! Yours is looking lovely.
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty set of colors (I LOVE gray with anything really, but a pop color like this pink is best!).
